10 reels for churches to promote Easter

We’re just a few weeks away from Easter, and we’re always trying to find ways to help promote our services to our community. There are people near your church who need the hope of Jesus, and Easter is a day where more people are open to coming to church than normal, so it’s a great season to try new things to reach them.

With short form videos like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels being an even bigger part of our lives this year than in the past, I put together this list of prompts that any church of any size could try and use for their ministry. If you try any of these, tag me @churchsocial.media in the comments, I’d love to see how you use them!

Here’s the list of 10 prompts for reels for your church

  1. An invite from your Sr. Pastor

  2. Have your kids pastor give 45 seconds “Kids are more than welcome in our adult service with you, we also have nursing/cry rooms, and our kids ministry will be doing x at all easter services”

  3. Have your pastor give a brief answer on “What is Good Friday”

  4. “Did you know” easter fact - There is more than one theory on where the word Easter comes from, one is the Old English word "ēastre," which simply refers to the direction East, where the sun rises, symbolizing the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

  5. Ask your staff members “what was your favorite easter tradition growing up” encourage audience to share theirs in the comments

  6. Ask your worship pastor to share what song they are most excited to sing this Easter

  7. Go to the most recognizable part of your town and do an invite video there, that Easter at your church is for all of “your town”

  8. Have your pastor answer “what is the hope of Easter?”

  9. Read 1 Corinthians 15:20-22 - we have hope because Jesus rose from the dead. Easter is a celebration of that hope and that gift, and it happens around the world. We’re praying you have a place to celebrate that hope this Easter, and if not, we’d love to help you find somewhere.

  10. “Answering questions about Easter” give short and quick answers to commonly asked questions from first time guests - What do I wear, where do I park, how early should I be, is there anything for kids, can I just show up?
