5 types of content to post for your church social media in June

Vacation Bible School Promotions

Many churches host Vacation Bible School (VBS) programs during the summer months. Use your social channels to promote upcoming VBS dates, share registration information, highlight fun activities planned, and post teasers to build excitement. You can also share photos/videos from past VBS events.

Summer Reading/Study Plans

Encourage congregants to dive into personal Bible study or book reading plans over the summer months. Share reading schedules, discussion questions, or recommend inspirational books aligned with your church's values. This can foster community engagement and spiritual growth.

Father's Day Celebration Posts

With Father's Day falling on June 18th this year, you could create posts celebrating and honoring the fathers in your congregation. Share quotes, scriptures, or stories highlighting the important role of fathers. Encourage members to share photos with their dads or share tributes to the father figures in their lives.

Inspirational Summer Themes

Create content around inspirational summer themes, such as enjoying God's creation, finding rest and renewal, or practicing gratitude during the summer season. Share relevant scripture verses, quotes, or personal reflections that tie into these themes and resonate with your audience. On Instagram, we specifically called out the need for devotionals for rest - it can feel easy for families to feel like summer is more go, go, go than the school year. Having a regular stream of thoughts on rest can help minister to them throughout the week, all summer long.

Ministry Highlights

Celebrate wins that different ministries had this past year, such as how many kids or students got baptized in the last 12 months or how many new groups formed. But you can also focus on sharing highlights from ministries still meeting in the summer. Post updates from Youth Group Camp, from VBS. It’s easy to only post about things for promotion, but share them as they happen, too!
